The Nassau County Clerk now requires all high volume Recorders to submit their instruments for recording via E-Recordings.
The E-Recording process requires Recorders to submit instruments for recordings through an intermediary service via the internet. The intermediary submits the imaged documents to the Nassau County Clerk for recording.
The imaged documents are reviewed by the clerk’s office and if found in recordable form are then recorded. The original documents are retained by the filer and the document that is recorded is the electronic imaged document.
This new requirement is changing the way original documents are being recorded. We will keep you advised as more information becomes available.
